Speaker 1:

Welcome to Endorphasm, mick, where we talk about all things. Endorphasm, I am your hostess, erica Porter. We all face major decisions from time to time, whether it's contemplating a career change, a move, a split, a new relationship, deciding to start a family or really any other significant life choice. It can be challenging to know which path is right, and it would be so much easier if we had this crystal ball to guide us. But unfortunately, life doesn't work that way and, quite honestly, I think that that would be boring. And instead, figuring out if you're making the right decision is a bit more complex, and it involves a lot of reflection, sometimes risk-taking, which can feel scary and overwhelming. But it can also be exciting, and your choices are your own, which means the possibilities are limitless and you have the power to shape your future and be who you want to be, if you give yourself that permission. And while there's no magic wand to make hard decisions for you, I think there are some tips that can help you get a clearer sense of whether or not you are on the right track, and only you can truly know what's best for you. But hopefully these strategies can help you determine whether you're heading down a path that aligns with what you truly want, and I think it's really important to trust your gut. There's a lot to be said for listening to your gut, and often that inner voice is guiding you toward what feels right. However, overthinking, comparing yourself to others and listening to outside opinions can drown out that little voice that is trying to lead you in the right path. Little voice that is trying to lead you in the right path. And if something deep inside is telling you that you're making the right choice, it's worth listening to. And the same goes if you have a nagging feeling that you're choosing the wrong option and maybe you feel pressured to make a choice that doesn't feel right for you, and that's a valid concern too.

Speaker 1:

I think you have to reflect on your values. Trusting your gut can be tough, especially if that inner voice is just a whisper. Taking time to reflect on what truly matters to you can help make it louder, and whether that's through meditation, journaling, art, spending time in nature for me it's getting down and dirty with an endorphasm class, because that's when I have complete clarity, that's when I feel centered and powerful All of those are great tools for reflection, and you have to use whatever resonates with you and whatever empowers you with that endorphasm, mindset right. This all comes down to power of the feeling, the feeling of the power when we're able to connect with ourselves on a very deep level. It helps us be able to make tough choices and to stay aligned with our values, who we are as a person, what we truly want. And I think, once you've had time to reflect, think about your core values. Do you value connection, adventure, authenticity, expression? Consider how your decision aligns with or contradicts those values.

Speaker 1:

I think that it's important to explore both positive and negative what-ifs. So when self-doubt creeps in, it's easy to get stuck focusing on potential negative outcomes, and that's a space a lot of people live in when it comes to both small and big decisions. And while it's natural to consider what could go wrong, it's important to balance that with positive possibilities. If your mind keeps asking what if I hate the new city? I'm moving to Try reframing that question. What if I love it? What if I make new friends and I enjoy exploring my new neighborhood?

Speaker 1:

Shifting to positive what ifs can open your mind to the good things that could come from your decision. And the goal of all of this is to uncover what you, what you truly want, not what others expect or what you think you should and I'm putting that in air quotes what you should do. So zoom out and gain perspective. I know that when facing a tough decision, it can feel all consuming and, while it's important to take big decisions seriously, you also risk overthinking them to the point of inaction. And if you're feeling overwhelmed, take a step back, zoom out on your life. Remember that this choice is just one of many you're going to make over time and even though it might feel monumental now, this decision ultimately won't define your entire life. Ultimately, it's what you make of it. And making wise decisions and implementing them effectively really is often the key to success. And every one of us will make bad decisions along the way, but by using kind of these methods you can minimize those mistakes, especially the big ones.

Speaker 1:

And ultimately, I believe in risk reward, cause and effect. Everything we do has an equal or similar reaction. So consider the risk reward ratio of any major decision that you're making what's the potential upside and what's the downside? Know that. I believe everything is figureoutable and if we make a decision and we feel guided that it is the right one and ultimately is not the right one. Things can change, make a different one. But that's part of the journey of life is learning to navigate, listening to ourselves, trusting our gut, zooming out on our life and ultimately deciding that risk, reward, that cause and effect. So here's to some great decisions, whether they are small or big, and listen to that voice, let it be loud, let it be heard. Find what you need to reflect and explore that beautiful mind With that love, health and happiness and always much respect.
