To live. To feel alive. Because I can. Because I’m human. Because my humanity demands it! Movement. We weren’t wired this way by accident. Our physical and mental health is by design, dependent on movement. We are designed to feel good when we move because survival depends on movement. This was an obvious truth when hunting, gathering, and farming; our existence depended on our ability and desire to do survival tasks, so our bodies are chemically and hormonally designed to make us feel good when doing them. It is a much less obvious truth in modern society, but no less relevant. The endorphasm is the moment during movement you feel anything is possible. Clarity. This podcast is the exploration of movement as the foundation for a productive, fulfilling, rewarding, most excellent life.

Through my personal experiences and professional insights, we'll explore how genuine self-care can empower you to push beyond your comfort zones and embrace a version of yourself that you've only dreamed about. It's time to face the excuses and embrace the power of self-love to truly transform your life.
Welcome to Endorphasm, mick, where we talk about all things. Endorphasm, I am your hostess. Erica Porter, gat, monkey I haven't talked about the monkey on your back for a while. The biggest challenge for many people is filling the gap between intention and action. Most people set goals like losing weight, managing time better, prioritizing their health and reducing stress, yet in reality, they miss workouts, they overeat, they struggle with time management and only partially commit to the actions needed to reach these goals. Are you ready to bridge that gap, to create real and lasting change? Now is the time. So the book that I wrote was Eat that Monkey. Now is the time to change your life. So, as we're approaching, when so many people do New Year's resolutions, say, why would you wait? Why would you wait to bridge that gap? January 1st doesn't change what you want for yourself. What you want for yourself. So the important thing is now is the time to take charge of your health and your happiness. Don't settle for less than the best version of yourself. Define where you are now and where you truly want to be.
Speaker 1:I am a fitness, lifestyle and weight management specialist. I have, hopefully, what I think has inspired thousands of people with my get the monkey off your back philosophy. I am high energy, I am straightforward, I have an athletic background, but my mission is to help others live a life they love in a body they love, and, with over 30 years of experience in the health, fitness and behavioral lifestyle arena, I also am the author of Eat that Monkey. Now is the Time to Change your Life. My own journey began with overcoming my own struggle with compulsive overeating and self-esteem, and through a combination of self-reflection affirmations and personal commitment combination of self-reflection affirmations and personal commitment I was really able to transform my habits. And now I share the tools that I've used with people all over the world, and I am driven by my passion for helping others achieve not just physical transformation but, more so, emotional transformation. And I had launched initially Eat that Monkey Life Solutions, which was to empower individuals everywhere to create lasting, positive change. That then really morphed into what endorphasm is, and so you know I always will refer to the monkey.
Speaker 1:Do you have a monkey that causes you to repeat behaviors and choices that leave you feeling regretful? And the human brain is clever it convinces you that self-love sometimes is about taking it easy. Go ahead, eat that brownie. You've earned it. You deserve a break. Don't try that thing you've been dreaming about. You might fail or worse, you might be judged Um, stay right here. It's safe out there. That's the unknown. It can be terrifying. Is this self-love or self-defeat? And before you embark on any new path or project, get clear on what it truly means to love yourself and what obstacles stand in your way. Because without genuine self-love, what do you really have? And here's what I've discovered about self-love Self-love is not forgiving yourself repeatedly for the same self-sabotaging habits.
Speaker 1:That's avoidance. Hiding behind being nice that's fear. Seeking comfort above all else, that's stagnation. Battling where you are instead of accepting it, that's resistance. Putting others' needs First at your expense, that's self-sacrifice. Convincing yourself to lounge on the couch watching TV instead of moving your body that's self-defeat or self-deceit, I'm sorry. It's also self-defeat. Laughing at yourself before others can that's insecurity. Letting go of discipline that's chaos. Striving for perfection that's just perfectionism. Listen, we are all perfect exactly where we are. That doesn't mean that we can't get better.
Speaker 1:Optional Self-love is necessary for a fulfilling life. It's not optional. But self-love is P pushing yourself past your comfort zone, allowing yourself to feel deeply without being controlled by those feelings, standing up for yourself even if it's difficult, asking for what you deserve, prioritizing rest and restoration for mind and body, choosing health over indulgence, showing up for yourself consistently. Care, consistent and repeated effort, taking time to look your best, even on tough days, saying no to what doesn't serve you and yes to what doesuing growth and excellence. Always Enjoying the present rather than waiting for some day, rather than waiting for January 1st and a resolution. Enjoying the present, being there today.
Speaker 1:Self-love is powerful. It's recognizing when you're offering yourself excuses disguised as care. It's about turning passion into compassion, investing in yourself and making every moment count. What if your only limitation is your thinking, because typically, that is what your only limitation is? What if you are meant to make an impact? What if everything you need is available to you right now? What if today is the last day to live fully? Reflect, choose your own what if? And make that decision.
Speaker 1:Repeat mantras to power through. I am strong, I am amazing. Sweat is cleansing, one step at a time. I feel alive. I love doing what I set out to do, whatever the affirmation that you need. Affirmations guide people through tough moments, transforming words into physical energy. I believe in energy. I believe that everything is energy and vibration, and when you set the tone for positivity and possibility and epicness. Amazing things happen.
Speaker 1:Self-love is pushing beyond your self-imposed limited beliefs. It's sitting with difficult emotions without becoming them. It's restoring your mind and your body. It's choosing what supports your growth over what offers temporary comfort. It is showing up for yourself, day after day, with strength and compassion. If you want true change, start by understanding real self-love. What barriers are holding you back? And if you are interested in digging a little bit deeper, whether it's consultation, whether it's personal training, whatever it is, there is no greater gift than empowering yourself and it's worth it. You are worth it.
